ask the manowar fan

I've been busy with things.

My project is going along just fine, if your interested in knowing what it's about email me I am not speaking about it on a public forum ... I know your looking Google. Bastards.

Words of Wisdom.
Everyone I know in Bombay is fine, for that I thank God, fate, whatever. But what happened was just not right. You don't kill innocent people to make a statement. You use words.

To the people of Bombay. You have my respect, you have my heart, you would have all my money if I had any. The stories of courage keep pouring on. The stories of life keep pouring in. Who needs Batman when you have Bumbaiyyas. The stories are awe inspiting. People ditching their lives, their jobs, to go out and help. No caste, no creed. Edmund Burke said, "For evil to flourish, all that is needed is for good men to do nothin." Bombay did a lot. I may not be from Bombay ... but I respect its people.

I may not ooze wisdom :) But I'm happy with some recent turn of events. Hapiness ... is just around the corner. Hehe!

"Lord Acton said we should judge talent at its best and character at its worst. For example, if you write one great book and ten bad ones, you still count as a great writer-- or at least, a better writer than someone who wrote eleven that were merely good. Whereas if you're a quiet, law-abiding citizen most of the time but occasionally cut someone up and bury them in your backyard, you're a bad guy.

Almost everyone makes the mistake of treating ideas as if they were indications of character rather than talent-- as if having a stupid idea made you stupid. There's a huge weight of tradition advising us to play it safe. "Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent," says the Old Testament (Proverbs 17:28).

Well, that may be fine advice for a bunch of goatherds in Bronze Age Palestine. There conservatism would be the order of the day. But times have changed. It might still be reasonable to stick with the Old Testament in political questions, but materially the world now has a lot more state. Tradition is less of a guide, not just because things change faster, but because the space of possibilities is so large. The more complicated the world gets, the more valuable it is to be willing to look like a fool."

Exam was good.

I once met a mystic who said I had three gaurdian angels, she was mighty right.

Tomorrow should be an interesting day :)

12 hours.

By Sid

T - 12 hours to the exam.

I've done all I can. Am going to get 6 hours of sleep ... 4am to 10am. Then up and awake, need to leave by at least 1pm to get there by 2.

4 much work, 2 less time. Adapted from Udit's "4 much alcohol, 2 less time".

You want to be someplace so bad, but ... it's just not going to happen. The universe will conspire against you ... OH! IT WILL! But it really is upto you, to accept the situation for what it is, or to "milk to mofo" as I like to say.

Truth be told, I haven't done any of these things of which I so valiantly speak ... and I don't see what I want happenening ... but life is not a passive sentence my people, life ... is an active sentence which you would rather live than serve. I see me determined at getting what I want and that's what matters.

Word life.

T-12 hours. Back to theory and reading more code ... to the end.

Guess which I picked? Huh? Huh?

Blitzkrieg

By Sid

definition: German for 'lightning war'. A military strategy used by the Germans at the beginning of World War II to achieve victory through a series of quick offensives, especially in Belgium, Holland and France. After an initial bombardment, armour and motorised infantry were mobilised rapidly to break the weakest parts of the enemy line.

:)

10 down, 5 more to go.

ARGH!

Just you and me now the ritual begins
There will be no emotion just cold-blooded killing
When you least expect it I'll stand before you
Don't try to escape for today
My fantasy comes true.

NullPointerException

Posted In: , . By Sid

When dealing with an array of objects:

Object objectArr[] = new Object[MAXSIZE];

This statements only allocates space for the array, referring to any of its elements after this declaration will only result in a NullPointerException.

You have to do this:

for(int i=0;i < MAXSIZE;i++) objectArr[i] = new Object();

You have to in essence, now allocate memory to every element of the array of objects.

In conclusion, fuck you NullPointerException I'm better than you.

PS: This wasn't in any book, so I thought should post it up.

It's amazing ... really bloody amazing.

Anyways, come hell, come high water, Java Man must survive.

Java Man is building new System Programming powers, cool, si? But tomorrow morning when Java Man wakes up to 15 practice assignments, the fun will begin.

In fact, it has begun.
My Confession - Otep.

because i'm diluted
&perfectly flawed

i shall
live by passion
& not by law

and i'm
insecure ...
i need aggression

to feed the spiders
of perception

and i'm
supposed to be strong
& have all the answers

a cannibal
in the
new church of cancer

but i'm
nothing special
i'm not unique

i have
many secrets
& i eat the weak

and i'm
at an end

i'm at an end .....

and there's ...
NO WAY OUT!!

[chorus]

i need to find my sanctuary
..... someplace safe
gotta get this outta me
..... this is my escape

II.
and i
think about it
all the time

i'm
volatile
& afraid to cry

but i'm
still not comfortable
in my skin

and the
anesthetics slowly
wearing thin

& i need to talk to
someone new

i need a different
latitude & i'm
in this void
all alone!
feeling needy

... hungry to grow

but i'm
suffocating
-- can't come down

and .... no ....
THERE'S NO WAY OUT!!!

[chorus]

i need to find my sanctuary
.... someplace safe
gotta get this outta me!
.... THIS IS MY ESCAPE!!!

--- all i see is sadness
all i see is sadness ....
what's left?

-- this will teach them.
this will teach them,

......you've got to......
push.
Push.
PUSH....
YOUR WAY OUT!!!

FOLLOW ME!
FOLLOW ME!
THIS IS YOUR WAY OUT!!

........you are not alone

- this is where i hide my power
- this is where i become free
- this is where i take control
- and slowly choke your fantasies

- i want to know my day is coming
- see my enemies be punished
- shed my skin again
- this will be my best revenge!!

SHED MY SKIN AGAIN
THIS WILL BE MY BEST REVENGE!

Go listen to this song, not for the lyrics, which btw are fucking cool, but for the sheer vocals this person puts forth.

Java Man.

By Sid

Well the news was that I might get a job, with actual money involved sooner than I thought. I'ts not the one which I was supposed to get through college, that comes a bit later.

But two opportunities have veered their way over to me, I will be exploring both to the fullest.

As for today, I am Java Man. I've finished with the basics, moving over to Applets and Threading. Will post some doubts, am sure of them, not for answers, but for the sheer volume of the shout :)

14157, magic number for today and forever.

I am Java Man. So Fly.
